City Parks |
|
|
Parkersburg has three city parks.
Depot Park is a historical site on the north end of town where Parkersburg's old train station still stands complete with an old time caboose from a passenger train.
Miracle Park, formally Swimming Pool Park, is located on the west side end of town near the cemetery, pool, and Veteran's Memorial Building. The park is equipped with new playground equipment and three new shelter houses. Miracle Park was renamed because there were no children in the park when the tornado on May 25, 2008 ripped straight through town, including the park.
Schwartz Memorial Park is a new park on the east end of town. Located on Newell Avenue, the park has new playground equipment and a pond.
