Kothe Library Article
A lot of great people from near and far visited the library during RAGBRAI:
Minnesota,
Texas,
New York,
California,
Vancouver and
Viet Nam to name a few. There was much interest in the
May 25, 2008 tornado book and the pictures that were on display. Janet Johnson, Ruth Haan and Nina Schmitz who complied the tornado book.

Mayor Perry Bernard and library board member Chuck Cleary were on hand to greet people during the day. Board members Becky Schrage and Kate Petersen also helped.

The RAGBRAI riders were very appreciative of having the library open for public use. We had LONG waiting lines for restrooms, drinking fountains and computers. We also had people parked close to any available outlet so they could plug in their iPhone. An amazing thing about the waiting lines was that people loved to talk about where they came from and the beautiful
Iowa countryside. The result was many interesting conversations.
